A little bit of spoilage, and then some

My Daddy got me a Mac. =) A really pretty gorgeous beautiful amazing 13-inch MacBook Pro. If you’re a daughter and you have a Dad, if you ask for something sweetly enough you will usually get it =) Thanks Papi. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

And OH MY GOSH. This machine is incredible. Why it has taken me so long to switch is beyond me but I am in shock and awe over how beautiful this machine is. Buying an Apple is like buying an experience. From the moment you open the box you realize that someone, a real human being, thought about every single detail. The cellophane unwraps just right, paper unfolds intuitively… it is like Christmas morning but with a touch of elegance and sophistication that you just can’t describe. I don’t know what to do with the box. It is so pretty. Maybe I can display it on the center table?! =)

The keyboard clicks just right. It is back lit and soft and perfect. The screen is so clear that I keep reaching out to touch icons as if I can actually push the button right then and there. There is something so poetic about it all. iWork has Pages, Keynote and Numbers instead of Microsoft’s versions for Word, Powerpoint and Excel. It’s like naming a car Move or an airplane Fly or a computer BEAUTIFUL. It is so inspiring to be working on a machine like this. It is a constant reminder of the importance of aesthetics.

Beauty matters.

There is a great quote that reads: There are no ugly women. Just lazy ones. Well, thank you Steve Jobs for not being lazy. Thank you for taking the time to make ordinary, everyday things beautiful and inspiring and surprising. More things in life should delight us as much as a Mac.

I <3 Apple.
