We’re in Slovenia for two nights (it’s amazing how a hotel room can feel like ‘home’ even after only a day), in the capital, Ljubljana. It’s lovely. Very small but super cosmopolitan. It’s a university town and the 50k students definitely add to the vibe here.
We spent a few hours walking around Lake Bled as well. Very picturesque but admittedly, it can’t compare to the grandeur of our Canadian lakes and rockies (like Lake Louise, for example!).
All in all, a lovely short side trip through the Northen Italian mountains into Slovenia. Tomorrow, a 4 hour train to Salzburg Austria; the birthplace of Mozart! Gawd I love rail travel in Europe!!! 🙂
