Today I learned to drive a stick shift! =) AP taught me on REAL streets! With a REAL car! And I didn’t crash or hit anyone and I only stalled twice (okay, maybe three times. I can’t remember). I’m amazed at how quickly you can learn something new. Even impromptu.
And so I came up with an idea.
A commitment to learn something new (something tangibly new) every single day. Now that I’ve given myself all of this time to wander and discover, it would be a waste to NOT be learning something new, every chance that I get. Whether it’s a new Spanish verb (with conjugations), or new swim stroke or new dance – something anything everything – I think it’s important to keep learning. Complacency can be dangerous. There is too much to discover in this world to be complacent.
So – day 1 – I learned how to drive a stick shift. =)
