One month in Italy

A few months ago Mom and I spent several days on the Amalfi Coast.  It was one of my favourite holidays of all time.  I think of that weekend often as I wander Europe for several weeks.  It was full of so much laughter and joy.  I remember saying then how great it would be to wander Italy for a month.  Time just slows here. Days stretch and things move in slow motion. After the chaos of two years in London, this time warp is a breath of fresh air.

So, here I am. Wandering Italy for a month.  Amazingly all these things that I had always wished to do are now so so possible.  It feels somewhat 'Eat Pray Love' -esque. The Italian language is beautifully rhythmic, the food satisfying and the warm evenings so lazy and relaxing.  I really just wish I had a computer with me.  Typing on this android phone is just not the same.

Milan has been empty. Like Athens was last week, it feels like a ghost town.  Warm, quiet, still.  We saw the Duomo and all the sights nearby.  It's not my fave city but I'm glad I saw it.  All the major fashion shops are closed for the month of August so my plan to try on outrageously expensive Cavalli dresses had to be put on hold.  =)

Today it's a train to Bergamo.  Tomorrow I see my very lovely Cynthia in Lake Como where we will dine at my boyfriend, George Clooney's, lake-front villa.  Oh the life of a Clooney girlfriend. It's hard work.  😉
